Summary: Individual Handicap Match Play. Random draw. The first and second rounds are played in consecutive weeks. The date is dependant on the date of the Ladies’ Pro-Am. Play by dates are set for subsequent rounds and match times are arranged by Members.

History:This trophy is an impressive twin-handled pedestal Cup, 20 cm high and weighing 300 g, hallmarked London 1904. It was presented to the Club in 1905 by Sir James Fairfax, President 1905 – 1919, for an Associates’ Match Play competition. Originally called the ‘Presidents Cup’, the name was changed to ‘Fairfax Cup’ in 1919, the year Sir James died. The 1919 winner – the last before the name change – was Mrs J. Fairfax, daughter-in-law of Sir James.
