History: First played in 1966. Until 2004 it was only open to members of The Australian GC & Royal Sydney with an A grade handicap (maximum 15). In 2014 the event was opened to also include members of The Lakes and New South Wales Golf Clubs. In addition, in 2014, 20 PGA Professionals were invited to join the players who had qualified for Round 2 (top 60 players net Stroke scores) for a Pro-Am event. This was held in conjunction with a Stroke event for the Professionals with a prize purse of $10,000. In 2015 the event reverted to a competition for amateurs, open to members of the 4 LARN Clubs with a maximum GA Handicap of 12.7.
