Summary: Association Croquet Singles Club Championship. Block Singles Games without a final held between April – June. Games are level, advanced play timed at two and a half hours. Open to all players with an Association Croquet handicap.
History: Croquet was played at the Club from about 1905 until 1935 but then lapsed, due to the popularity of bowls and tennis. In 1967, with strong support from many Associates and Major W.R.H. Tingey, the game was revived. A Championship was played from 1976 and in 1978 a cup was given by Mrs A.L. Rentoul to commemorate Major Tingey’s contribution to Croquet at the Club.
Traditions & Standards: Trophy and prize awarded at President & Captain’s Dinner or Women’s Annual Dinner.
