The essential criteria required for selection as a golf or tennis Cadet are:
Must be Year 7 at high school and above;
Must be on the membership waiting list;
Must have attended Royal Sydney junior programs or if new to the Club met with the Head Golf Professional/Head Tennis Professional to display suitable playing standards.

Children under 18 years of age as of 1st January 2025 wishing to join the Cadet Program will have their application assessed based on commitment to, and satisfactory participation in, Club programs (including private tuition). The following requirements must be met by applicants if they wish to be considered for the Cadet program:
Obtain a playing handicap within the first three (3) months of Cadet Membership
Enter and play in the Cadet Centenary Match Play (non-Trophy event)
Play one (1) Interclub Match per year (out of a possible 8)
Attend six (6) Cadet Squad clinics (held weekly during school terms) or 6 (6) individual golf lessons per year
Play six (6) recognized (social play) rounds and participate in six (6) practice sessions per year
Attend the annual welcome BBQ and year-end presentation event
Attend two (2) Cadet Social events in the year
Register using the Cadet QR code check in when participating in any activity at the Club
Cadets under 18 years of age as at 1st January 2025 wishing to renew their Cadet membership will have their application assessed based on commitment to, and satisfactory participation in, the Cadet Program during the previous year. For the Golf Cadet Program, renewal applications will be considered under the following criteria:
Obtain a playing handicap within the first three (3) months of Cadet Membership

Attend annual welcome BBQ and year end presentation event
Attend two (2) Cadet Social events in the year
Participate in at least one (1) of the Club Championships
Register using the Cadet QR code check in when participating in any activity at the Club

Attend six (6) Cadet Squad clinics (held weekly during school terms) or 6 (6) individual golf lessons per year
Participate in one (1) Younger Members event
Actively use the Club and register using the Cadet QR code check-in when participating in any activity at the Club
Cadets wishing to apply to become a Senior Golf Cadet will have their application assessed based on commitment to, and satisfactory participation in, the Cadet Program during the previous year. Applications for the Senior Golf Cadet Program will be considered under the following criteria:
Attend six (6) Cadet Squad clinics (held weekly during school terms) or 6 (6) individual golf lessons per year
Participate in one (1) Younger Members event
Actively use the Club and register using the Cadet QR code check-in when participating in any activity at the Club
Cadets wishing to apply to become a Senior Tennis Cadet will have their application assessed based on commitment to, and satisfactory participation in, the Cadet Program during the previous year. Applications for the Senior Tennis Cadet Program will be considered under the following criteria:
Participate in one (1) Younger Members event
Participate in one (1) Club Championship event
Actively use the Club and register using the Cadet QR code check-in when participating in any activity at the Club
Cadets wishing to apply to become a Senior Tennis Cadet will have their application assessed based on whether they fulfilled the requirements of a Senior Tennis Cadet, and their engagement with the Club during the previous year. Applications for the Senior Tennis Cadet Program will be considered under the following criteria:
Participate in one (1) Younger Members event
Participate in one (1) Club Championship event
Actively use the Club and register using the Cadet QR code check-in when participating in any activity at the Club
