Summary: 18 Hole Stroke for left handed players only. Held on a Saturday, as close to 4th August as possible.
History: This trophy commemorates the outbreak of the First World War, 4th August, 1914. Presented in 1935 by an anonymous donor, later identified as C.A. McBride. One of the conditions of play is that it should be held on 4th August. It was not played for after the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939 until it was re-introduced in 1971 as ‘The Left-Handers’ Cup’.
Traditions & Standards: Players must play left handed for all shots (including putting). Prize awarded at President & Captain’s Dinner.
