Summary: 36-Hole Stroke for Members 55 years and older, on date of qualifying. Leading eight scores qualify for seeded match play. Qualifying held on a Saturday and Sunday in the same weekend, in May or June, in conjunction with Junior, Veteran and Vintage Championships

History: Given by the Club in 1975. The first Champion, Dr Jim Pendergast was a Specialist Ophthalmologist whose golfing career had mainly been at NSW Golf Club, where he may have won many Club Championships. He was Runner Up in the 1946 Australian Amateur Championship at RSGC and in 1947 he played in the Championship at Royal Adelaide, only to be beaten in the first round by an 18 year old youngster from Victoria, Peter Thompson, who went on to win five British Opens in the 1950s. Paul Mazoudier asked him if he had not played well. His reply “No, I was 3 under par when beaten 3 & 2”.

Traditions & Standards: Trophy presented after Final. Prize awarded at President & Captain’s Dinner.
Dress: Golf attire for presentation after Finals.
